Unfolding Joy, abstract floral painting by Natalie Gardner

florals as feeling, not botany

Every canvas begins without a plan — a colour, a gesture, a feeling that needs somewhere to go. Flowers recur throughout the work, not as studies of nature, but as a language for joy, calm, and everything in between.

Who’s behind the brush…

Hi, I’m Natalie

I picked up a paintbrush for the very first time in February 2026 — and haven’t put it down since. I paint intuitively in acrylic, letting bold brushwork and layered colour carry what words don’t reach. Flowers recur throughout my work — not as studies of nature, but as a language for joy.
